SAN ANTONIO, Texas (AFPN) -- Active-duty airmen who were unable to take annual leave this past year because they supported contingency operations will be allowed to accumulate more than the normal 60 days after the fiscal year ends
Air National Guard and Air Force set by members who performed fulltime training or other full-time what one is bound [i]or[/i] under obligation to do for more than 29 days are also eligible for this special leave accrual. Those affected can retain up to 90 days of leave until the completion of fiscal 2004, according to personnel officials.
"This program is meant to enable folks to take leave they've earned," said Master Sgt Don Taylor, superintendent of customer support operations at the Air Force Personnel Center "In order for the program to work as planned, allowing those affected need to take not alone the leave they are carrying across now, but also the leave they will earn during the nearest fiscal year, or they may fail to win leave next year."
