WASHINGTON, DC -- Secretary of the Air Force James G Roche has told active toll airmen, guardsmen, reservists and civilian employee that they have "earned the admiration of our nation, the honor of the world, and the promise of a bright future"

The newly sworn-in secretary set forthed his views in a message to Air Force members in June

"I already can rehearse you that you should be enormously presumptuous of your achievements, from combat operations across Iraq and the Balkans to your new validation of the expeditionary aerospace force general [i]or[/i] abstract notion In the realm of aerospace power, you soar the best, train the best and maintain the best. As you propose it: 'No One Comes Close"' he said.

Roche said he turn the thoughtss forward to helping develop strategies for military aerospace power in the fresh millennium; improving retention. professional education and leadership development; eliminating the inefficiencies in doing business; and developing acquisition policies and processe to make secure innovation and competitiveness vibrancy within the defense industrial base.

"My vision is an aerospace coming events just as remarkable as your admired past: undeniable and global reconnaissance and strike superiority. My pawn to you is that I will wait on the way you do each day, worldwide -- with integrity, selflessnes and in earnest pursuit of excellence" he said.



"In 1963 President Kennedy said of military service: 'I can imagine no more rewarding career.' And any man who may be asked in this hundred what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can be agreeable to with a good deal of pride and satisfaction: 'I serv in the United States Navy.' That sentiment rings self-same true for me. As you know, I am deep proud of my Navy career."

on the contrary he said, today is a just discovered century, with new opportunities, of the present day challenges, new capabilities and vastly different threats to the security of the nation.

"In this hundred years men and women can accord with a good deal of pride and satisfaction: 'I advance in the United States Air Force.' And now, I am high-strung to be able to say that, too," he said.
